On October 3rd, 2024, we hosted an impactful training session at the Bishop Lakshman Wickramsinghe Training Centre, Kurunegala. Led by the experienced Mr. Lasantha Kariyapperuma, the programme focused on equipping entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners β including migrant returnees β with the tools they need to succeed. π‘π
The programme was coordinated by the Enterprise Development Officers from the Kurunegala District/Divisional Secretariat.

Entrepreneur Skill Development Training β Matara District
The National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA), in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), is excited to be part of the transformative “UPLIFT” project! This initiative is designed to empower migrant returnees and vulnerable communities by enhancing their skills, improving their livelihoods, and encouraging safe and regular migration.
On October 10th, 2024, the second training session was successfully conducted at the Matara Main Post Office Auditorium. The session, focused on entrepreneurship and skill development, was led by Dr. M.B.F. Mafasia from the Faculty of Management and Finance at Ruhuna University.
Prominent participants included Ms. Lakmali Thenuwara, Assistant District Secretary of Matara, Ms. Kalyani Munasinghaarachchi, Deputy Director of the Matara Divisional Secretariat, NEDA’s Enterprise Promotion Officer, Ms. Bhagya Nakandala and Ms. Madhushani Kaushalya, and Mr. A.B.Y. Mr. Abeygunawardena, Foreign Employment Promotion District Coordinator, Enterprise Development officers and Foreign Employment Promotion Officers attached to Matara District.

Entrepreneur Skill Development Training β Puttalam District
Focusing on #entrepreneurship and #skills development, last week (18th October 2024) we successfully conducted the third training session for 72 number of beneficiaries! This impactful initiative is empowering migrant returnees, including women, and aspiring entrepreneurs, by enhancing skills, improving livelihoods, and promoting safe and regular migration.
Led by expert trainer, Mr. Lasantha Kariyapperuma, the session was attended by esteemed guests including Assistant District Secretary of Puttalam, Deputy Director of NEDA, Mr. Wasantha Senanayake, Enterprise Promotion Officers of NEDA, Ms. Bhagya Nakandala and Ms. Madhushani Kaushalya, Foreign Employment Promotion District Coordinator, and several officers dedicated to enterprise development and foreign employment promotion in the Puttalam District.
